Reiman et al. (2012) have done a literature review which evaluated different EMG studies according to their activation of the gluteus maximus.
Be careful, as EMG studies only measure detects depolarizations and hyperpolarizations and we cannot necessarily draw firm conclusions for force production, hypertrophy and strength. (Vigotsky et al. 2018)
